Gaspésie 2006 (Parc Forillon) http://macheadcase.smugmug.com/gallery/1983695_iVqiz/ Le mot <em>Gaspésie</em> ou encore <em>Gaspé</em> vient du mot MicMac <a href="http://www.gaspesie.com/gespeg/francais.html" target="_blank"><strong><em>Gespeg</em></strong></a> signifiant <em>"le bout de la terre"</em>. La partie de la Gaspésie est la région la plus à l'est du Québec. Ce qui me frappe d'abord c'est évidemment la mer et les grandes étendues sauvages mais surtout les formations rocheuses. Les strates montrent jusqu'à quel point la couche terrestre est sollicitée par des poussées souterraines de force extraordinaire. Vous allez donc voir dans ces photos beaucoup d'images de rochers dont les strates sont parfois rendues à la verticale, mais aussi tout ce que j'ai eu la chance de capter avec ma Rebel XT. Nous avons visité, entre autre, le <a href="http://www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/qc/forillon/index_f.asp" target="_blank"><strong>Parc national du Canada Forillon</strong></a> et aussi le <a href="http://www.sepaq.com/pq/bon/fr/" target="_blank"><strong>parc national de l'Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé</strong></a>. J'espère que ces photos vous plairont et sauront traduire un peu la beauté de la Gaspésie. <em>The names</em> Gaspésie <em>and</em> Gaspé <em>come from the aboriginal MicMac nation's word</em> <a href="http://www.gaspesie.com/gespeg/english.html" target="_blank"><strong>Gespeg</strong></a> <em>which means</em> "land's end". <em>We were at the easternmost tip of the Gaspé peninsula. I was struck, of course, by the sea and the vast expanses of wilderness, but I was mostly awed by the rock formations. The rippling strata show us the tremendous forces at work on the Earth’s crust. You will see in these photo galleries lots of pictures of cliffs where the strata have been pushed up almost vertical, along with everything else I was lucky enough to capture with my Rebel XT. Our travels in the Gaspésie region took us to the <a href="http://www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/qc/forillon/index_e.asp" target="_blank"><strong>Forillon National Park of Canada</strong></a> and the <a href="http://www.sepaq.com/pq/bon/en/" target="_blank"><strong>Parc national de l'île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé</strong></a>.
